FAQ

Well, these aren't technically Frequently Asked Questions, and really, I'm not famous enough to actually create a FAQ page. (FAQ pages are for high-tech bloggers with businesses and everything, and I'm not that.) But here are some answered questions some of you may be asking in your head.

When did you start blogging?
March 24th, 2014. It was an exciting momentum, and I was wildly happy to click that orange 'publish' button for the very first time. I hate to link to my first post, but I shall, because I know your going to look for it anyway. So here it is. (Yes, I think it's badly written. Yes, I cringe at my old posts without ceasing.)

When will you stop blogging?
I hate to break it to you - I haven't got an end in mind quite yet.

What do you post about?
Mainly, my thoughts on Period Dramas. I looove Period Dramas. I recently finished the first two series of Call the Midwife and now I can't stop quoting Chummy. ("You're tickety-boo.") I also post about books, my life, my friendships and about the 'good little things of life.' A mush of different nonsensical podge, basically.

What's your real name?
Naomi is very much my real name, Sarah is very much my middle name. My last name is a big secret. :-)

You used to go by the name 'Naomi Bennet', right?
Yep; 'Bennet' bit is a pseudonym. Why? 1. Because I loved the idea of pen names. 2. Because I was honoured to share a name with Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. 3. Because I didn't want people to be able to google me with my real name. (Still don't, ha.)

Will you ever show a picture of yourself?
Maybe one day. I'm not dead set against it or anything. It's just that Internet can be... scary. I mean, everyone could stumble over my blog and then voila set eyes on my face. So that's why I've always hesitated about putting pictures of me on here. (But one day perhaps, you shall have the misfortune of viewing my face.)

What kind of Christian are you?
I don't like this question very much, because I don't like to think of myself as a 'kind of Christian.' I go to an Anglican Church, but I think of myself as simply: A Christian. I try my best to follow the Lord in all I do, and to respect his written Word - The Bible. Faith is something that is terribly important to me, and it's what backs me up in everything I do. I couldn't do without God.

How many siblings do you have?
Nine. Yes, nine. Yes, five brothers and four sisters. Yes, we're a family of five girls and five boys. Yes, you heard that. Yes, my mother copes. Yes, I like it. Yes, I'm also homeschooled. No, we're not the Duggar family. Shut up.

What are some of your favourite Period Dramas?

Who is Emma?
Emma is my bestest friend, who yes, I mention sometimes. :-D Her blog is here.

So are you British or Belgian?
Confusing, sorry. I know. I'm both. My dad is the Brit who married the Belgian, my mum. I live in Belgium, but I'm equally British as I am Belgium. I speak both Dutch and English, although I have a strong preference towards English as it's prettier and... hey, it's Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice.

  3. Hahaha, this is a great FAQ page! I love it. You and I share the very same thoughts of "posting my face on the internet". I want to show my face to all my lovely followers, but the thought of just ANYONE seeing it....no. :P
    Maybe someday....

  4. This is a bit personal, so you don't even have to post this comment unless you want to, much less answer it, but do you have a British accent? I am head over heels in love with British accents!! I am American myself and wish to high Heaven (dead serious, here) that I had a nicer accent. I abhor American accents. Actually, I don't. I abor my terrible imitation of a British accent, but I do DISLIKE American accents immensely.

    2. Oh how glorious! Like I said, I LOVE British accents!!!!!! My sister's boyfriend is from England, and when she brought him to visit it was so amazing. Even better when I visited England last October! I was is Heaven!!!

Well, I suppose we shall have to agree to disagree on that one. I'm sorry, but no. Just plain no to American accents. I plan to go live in England till I have a perfect accent, and then move to lots of other countries and learn their accents too. That way, I can choose which one I like the best and pass it on to my children.
